How can we learn more about your photography and see if we’re a good fit?
My photography focuses on celebrating and capturing all of the real love, connection and emotion on these incredible days. There is so much information to share including my approach, my vibe and logistical booking details as well as referrals from past couples and of course galleries of images. The best way to get a glimpse of all of this is really to visit my site, follow me on Instagram and then to schedule a consult to discuss what you are looking for and how I may be of service. When should we book a photographer?
I would encourage you to book any vendor, including your photographer, as soon as possible or you determine they are your right fit. For reference, there are 52 Saturdays in a year and most every couple wants to host their wedding on the same 25 of them. Vendors book up quickly and the safest advice would be to strive to book a year in advance if you are able.
What do we get from you and when?
This depends on a variety of factors and while I do not guarantee a specific number of images, I have found over time that the finished galleries that I deliver often contain roughly 100 images per hour of shooting. These 'best of the best' would of course be narrowed down from thousands more. Offseason engagement shoots are generally turned around pretty quickly (2-3 weeks), while the summer peak season does tend to get busier and thus slows delivery. I will always strive to send you a few 'sneak peeks' within a couple of days of your event (I will be as excited to see them as you are) and then for weddings the full gallery will be delivered within 8 weeks (though again, often sooner.)
Will you travel to our wedding?
Yes, absolutely. I work locally out of the Santa Fe/Albuquerque area, but am willing to travel anywhere and would be happy to put a quote together for you following a consultation.
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?

What separates you from all of the other photographers?
There is a lot of beautiful wedding photography to choose from and while I believe that I make some of it, the finished work is only part of the process of choosing a photographer. I have been shooting professionally for a long time and that has perhaps given me a different perspective than most. I see the beauty in people and I am patient enough to allow that beauty to come out without forcing it or forcing myself upon it. A lot of photographers shooting couples and weddings feel that it is their role to help people become beautiful by posing them in trendy or popular ways and this is a major divergence from my approach. I think that an excessive use of posing masks who they really are, how they really look at one another and what their love looks like. To me, it is always worth the wait to capture the real you because that is what is worth remembering. This point of view and approach is ultimately what makes me the photographer that I am and gives my work the look that it has. I am not the right fit for every couple, but if this is what you are looking for, then we may be a great fit.

Ty met my fiancé and me at our home in Albuquerque, where we started off with some casual shots at our house. We then took a short drive to a spot in the foothills where he captured us with the wonderful evening light and sunset. He gave the perfect amount of guidance and direction for some helpful poses, while still keeping things organic and natural. He made us feel comfortable throughout the whole shoot and captured a variety of shots. Ty was very communicative before, during and after the whole process which was much appreciated. We love our engagement pictures and can’t wait to feature them in all of our upcoming wedding materials!
Ty on our team was so much more than photography. Ty spent time with us leading up to our wedding getting to know us and what’s important to us — he made space in our very busy lives to really focus on what it was we were doing, and how we wanted it to feel. Our pre-wedding conversations with Ty helped us be ready to be present for and enjoy our day in a way we didn’t even know we needed! Ty is lovely to spend time with — present and supportive. We were drawn to Ty for his candid, editorial style and years of experience as a commercial photographer. His photos show an intuitive use of natural light and ability to capture subtle moments and feeling through movement that spoke to us both. Advice from friends and our own thought process suggested that photographs would be the most important element of all the many pieces that create a wedding. They would be the visual mementos to keep for years, that would take us back to our wedding day as we move through life together. We wanted the best photographer we could find and hence Ty was our clear choice.
From our first meeting, Ty was warm and very communicative which for anyone who has hired anyone, ever, goes a long way toward building trust and confidence. Throughout our planning process he gave a sense of being as invested in our day as we were, he asked questions and encouraged collaboration. Ty was always thoughtfully responsive and encouraging of us to bring our own whimsy, and to make our day(s) truly ours. Our wedding vision was “rustic elegance.” We wanted the warm afternoon light to illuminate the rustic A-frame we rented and the dappled light of the forest to shine on our wedding and a photographer who could capture the feeling of the genuine moments in time, not posed. Ty knew our intent and found the beauty in all the quiet in-between moments; he created images that take us back to the beauty and magic of that sweet day in the forest. Looking at the photos again and again I am continuously enchanted with how perfectly they turned out. They are all I could have hoped for. After the wedding, Ty went above and beyond by editing our photos within the week so we could have them before the reception, allowing us to identify any moments that were not captured the week prior so we could plan to have them taken prior to the reception. This was surprising and so thoughtful! We will always be two of Ty’s biggest fans! — for his artistry, professionalism and ability to see what we hoped to create. He captured the beauty of our day in a way we imagined and hoped for. We have the best photographic memories thanks to you Ty!
