Owner and Pastry Chef Andrea Schulte has over 20 years of experience making stunning wedding cakes.
Sweet Butter Baking features specialty cake flavors that Andrea created for NM weddings, such as The Land of Enchantment Cake, NM Chocolate Decadence Cake, and New Mexico Champagne Cake. Please ask about these when you inquire. A few other popular cake flavor choices include Raspberries & Cream, Luscious Lemon, Vanilla Creme Brulee, and Honey Lavender.
All cakes are made by hand using the highest-quality ingredients (most organic, non GMO, seed oil free). These delicious cakes are finished with Andrea’s light, buttery Swiss Meringue Buttercream.
Sweet Butter Baking allows couples to create a custom cake or choose a cake style from their online cake shop. Design options can include classic & smooth, textured, vintage piping, painted & piped buttercream, rolled fondant, stencil overlay, or edible gold leaf for a contemporary aesthetic.

Where to begin for a Custom Wedding Cake?
The first step is to submit the inquiry form to check your date and availability with Sweet Butter Baking. Once we confirm availability, Andrea will you send you an initial price estimate for your desired cake and the details for a tasting/design meeting if desired.
How much will my Custom Wedding Cake cost?
Pricing is dependent on design. Wedding cakes start at $12.00 for a full buttercream finish, with upcharges for custom hand-painted, hand-piped, and custom designs. Fondant designs start at $18.00 for fondant finish. Pricing will vary based on complexity of design and involved labor. Wedding Cupcakes, French Macarons, Mini Pies, Cookies, and Back-up Cake Tiers are also offered at various price points. Dairy Free, Vegan, and Gluten Friendly items are available upon request. Your custom wedding cake order comes with a complimentary 1 year anniversary cake.
Post tasting and design?
Andrea will email you a contract and invoice. If you have decided that Sweet Butter Baking is the right fit bakery for your event, a signed contract and 50% deposit will secure your event on our production calendar. The wedding cake/desserts are not confirmed or booked until a deposit is paid and contract is signed by the specified due date.
How far in advance should I schedule my tasting?
Andrea offers tastings within 12-18 months of your wedding date. Since you finalize the cake design during the tasting, you should schedule your tasting once you have a good sense of the overall theme of your wedding as well as a booked venue.
Do you deliver the Custom Wedding Cakes?
Yes, there is a delivery fee of $25.00 for the Albuquerque, NM metro area within 10 miles from Sweet Butter Baking and an additional $1.00 per mile for areas beyond that around Albuquerque metro area.
Do you deliver wedding cakes to Santa Fe?
Yes, Sweet Butter Baking delivers Custom Wedding Cakes to Santa Fe, NM with a $175 delivery fee as well as a set-up fee ranging from $75-$125. Andrea also has many clients opt to pick up their wedding cake (up to two-tiers) in Albuquerque and transport it themselves to their event in Santa Fe or other parts of the state. A two-tier cake travels well.
When should I order my cake from the Online Cake Shop and when will be be delivered?
Cakes should be ordered by Tuesday’s at 9 am to be delivered the same week on Saturday. If you know what you would like in advance we recommend ordering early as we close off orders when we have met our capacity for the week.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Andrea at Sweet Butter Baking! Our wedding cake turned out absolutely amazing! It was exactly what we wanted and more! Andrea was so nice and easy to work with. From the start she sat down with us and listened to our ideas and also suggested a ton of excellent ideas as well! She had so many delicious flavors that it was so tough to pick just one! We ended up picking one for a wedding cake and a second for my bridal shower. My bridal shower cake was stunning and perfect for an intimate shower! Everyone absolutely loved it! For my wedding cake, we came up with a design that was beautiful and then we decided to go in a different direction. Andrea was very patient and very accommodating with this decision. She absolutely captured the vision for my dream cake in every way possible! The cake turned out absolutely breathtaking! It was HUGE and the guests were blown away and couldn’t stop talking about how amazing and delicious it was!! We also decided to have Andrea make us Macaroons for our guests as they arrived to the ceremony! They were an absolute hit with all the guests! I couldn’t of picked anyone better to create my dream cake! She was an absolute angle to work with! Andrea truly is so talented and I can’t wait to work with her again! Thank you so much Andrea!

We used Sweet Butter Baking for our wedding cake, and I couldn’t recommend her more. The delicious and beautiful cake was delivered safely and on time to our wedding. Communication was excellent, and the tasting beforehand was a lot of fun. And she even provided a wedding stand to borrow on the wedding day when ours wasn’t sturdy enough. She’s a pro.
